Heart-spotting Contest Entry

Hearts and bikes…my two obsessions! Thanks to Ingrid L. for this one:

I came across this photo last week in a store and knew it needed to be hanging in my family room! It now is, and it makes me smile every time I walk past. The title is “Love Bike” and I love it! It would be perfect for you as well, Mr. Cyclist.

Cold, Cold Heart

I’m in Calgary today, where the weather is wintry and the veneer of white across the ground melts icily into the white of the sky.

Brrr!

Somehow this snowy heart seems fitting…

Heart-spotting Contest Entry

In the Hawaiian language, “Ho’i Hou Ke Aloha” means “Let us fall in love all over again.” Seeing the beautiful photos Caitlin M. posted on her blog (Blue Dot Jewelry) made me fall in love with Kaua’i all over again!

Caitlin sent me this fabulous photo from her trip:

When I saw this papaya tree in Koloa, Kauai (Hawaii) last week, I thought of your blog. Hearts up and down the trunk!

Yet another heart-shaped gem from Sylvia W.

Two, actually:

While photographing Holstein dairy cows recently in Delta, BC, I was captivated by two young cows who shared both an enclosure and a heart-shaped mark on the forehead. Who could resist such sweet, innocent faces…especially when they had love written all over them (literally)?

The United Buddy Bears is a collection of colorful statues that have been travelling the globe to promote living together in peace and harmony. Around 140 Buddy Bears, each two metres tall, represent countries recognised by the United Nations.

A friend posted a link to some photos of the Paris exhibition of “The Art of Tolerance” on Facebook, and a few the images seem perfectly suited to this blog…

Heart-spotting Contest Entry

From Contessa Arabella S. Casati from Modena, Italy, where she is (of course) heiress to the balsamic vinegar fortune…along with her twin sister Ariel:

While vacationing on Galiano Island last weekend, I was struck by the quaint shape of the sprinklers in a lovely garden I was strolling through. The quaintness (is this a word?) was made greater by the fact they were red.

(Yes, Contessa…’quaintness’ is a word. As is ‘pretentiousness’. Not to say that your pseudonym is pretentious. Or even that your pseudonym is a pseudonym….)

Dear members of the Vancouver Photography Meetup Group,

I am not stalking you. Honest. But as long as you keep snapping pictures of hearts – and as long as our mutual friend Sylvia keeps bringing them to my attention – I expect you’ll keep getting featured and applauded here at My Heart Shaped World.

I must say I really like this one, photographed by Sharon W., who says “I actually didn’t realize there was a blue heart until I loaded into Lightroom.”

I encourage you to take a peek at Sharon’s portfolio of magical shots at bluechameleon.com. That’s where I found the image below. Look carefully and you’ll find a couple of small red hearts…
